Because we are going paperless with the dramaturgy for this production, why not use the internet to our advantage? I have found a few YouTube videos. No, they are not clips from contemporary productions. I have posted documentaries, interviews, and explanations of design elements.  Watch them all, and post feedback. Were the videos useful, or would you rather search for video content on your own time?

Lysistrata Jones

I don't know how up-to-date you are on Broadway musicals, but Lysistrata Jones is currently in previews at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Take a look at the show's website and these YouTube videos. I think it looks like a lot of fun! Maybe some of the work in this adaptation will inspire us.

DC: Comedic Conventions

Funny, funny work tonight. Most of the dramaturgical work I've provided you with so far has been rather serious. We must not forget we are doing a comedy! While we live in an age of Judd Apatow and Saturday Night Live, I want you all to read this piece on fifth century BCE comedic tradition.  

Athenian Women

As we begin to put the first scene on its feet, I am realizing how important it is that we separate Athenian and contemporary women. As we are trying to create a piece of theatre close to that of its original production, I'd like you all to take a moment to read about the women we are bringing back to life. Read carefully, and my hope is that you can apply this information to your work tonight.
